Mid-Engine Corvette Finally Coming?

If you’ve been following what’s going on with the Corvette, even for a little while, then you probably know that the idea of a mid-engine Corvette has been floating around for some time….er, well, a very long time, in fact.
Surprisingly to some people, the idea of a mid-engine Corvette has been floating around in one way or another for over 60 years; since Zora Arkus-Duntov first dreamed of it. For those of you who don’t know who that is, it was Zora who basically single-handedly saved the Corvette from a premature death back in its early days.

After decades of teasing, we’ve all but confirmed that there will finally be a mid-engine Corvette. Days ago, a camouflaged Corvette was seen cruising the streets of New York. A Corvette that will evenly compete with the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini. And as if the regular Corvette won’t be potent enough, there have also been rumors of a “Zora” edition with HP ratings around 1000!

Will this be the generation to revitalize the Corvette name and attract younger buyers? We’ll all just have to wait and see, but GM promises a huge official reveal on 7/18/19.
